I've just watched "Pay the Ghost" with Nicolas Cage. It was ok but not exactly an edge-of-seat riveter. Cage has always been one of my favourite actors but as they get older, the quality roles just drop off.
Anyone else seen it?

I don't think I've even heard of it. Matchstick Men was the last film (that I remember) that I thought Cage was great.

If you have a spare 90 minutes and nothing else to watch, I'd say try it. It's not great but it's worth a watch. I've only seen one movie with Cage that I really didn't like and that's "Wild at Heart". It just didn't appeal to me. I await the Lynch mob...

A movie I watched recently and really enjoyed (didn't think I would based on the reviews and trailer) was Captain Fantastic. There were two scenes I found to be extremely powerful, and both were related to grief (which I've always said is an industrial strength emotion). I won't spoil it for anyone by saying any more. I highly recommend this movie. Captain Fantastic

I know everyone's sick of Found Footage but I recently watched a British movie called The Borderlands. It's a great watch and actually scary in places! It's just let down a little by the ending.

I went to the theater to see that. I remember a lot of bare boy ass and rabbits.

4D Man (1959). An older film I had never seen before, watched it a couple of days ago and it was pretty good. A young Lee Meriwether (Catwoman) is the love interest of the 2 brothers.

Looks good and features Star Trek's Gary Seven. I have to watch this.

Even my wife liked that one (she's not much of a sci-fi fan),

Last night I watched Planet of the Vampires (1965) again, which as you might know was a huge influence on the production of Alien.
