I wouldn't normally eat that either. Does dipping chip butties in leftover gravy count? A French fry sandwich? I guess it's the same as far as the "dipping" goes, but I'd put soup and gravy in two separate categories. Chips are slightly more man-sized than French fries but yes. I only mentioned the gravy as in some parts of England, people eat chips with gravy. It's quite nice but I prefer salt and vinegar.

I was always an oyster cracker kid. I don't think I've ever put Ritz in soup. Oh man, you haven't lived! I'd try them in tomato or chicken noodle soup. Salty, buttery I've never tried it but it sounds delicious.

The "breadcake" isn't something I'm familiar with, but I imagine I'm making this more complicated than it really is.

Chips...
About twice as thick as a fry; softer and slightly greasier. Served as is or with salt and vinegar.

Got it! We'd call these steak fries.

I like the salt and malted vinegar as well, but I won't say no to chips with curry sauce either!

Red Robin has some kick ass steak fries. Any fatter and they're called potato wedges or jo-jos. And around here, I have never seen anyone put curry sauce on their fries in my life. It's not even offered/available at restaurants, you'd have to bring your own from home.

It's a pretty goddamn delicious combination!

Which is no big deal because I hate curry/Indian food anyway

Never been to one, but I saw a TV ad for the steak fries a few days ago...Red Robin has the most appetizing TV food. Been to Indian restaurants, but never saw chips/fries on the menu.

I've only ever had them from Fish n Chips takeaways and pubs in the UK.
(my wife is a Brit and MIL lives in Blackpool, UK)
