I do remember going to a few drive-in movies as a kid. We had one not too far away when I was in High School that periodically had "all nighters" where the movies played until sun up. It was a place to buy alcohol if you were underage. There'd always be a couple guys selling beer & stuff out of their trunks

I watched these 2 Disney live action movies today... Rascal (1969) starring Steve Forrest and Bill Mumy
No Deposit, No Return (1976) starring Don Knotts and Darren McGavin I don't recall ever seeing these when I was growing up...both movies were pretty good.
I don't remember either of these. I'll keep an eye out. I haven't really seen much Don Knott's. Andy Griffith and Three's Company, that's about it. The Incredible Mr. LimpetThe Shakiest Gun In The WestThe Apple Dumpling Gang (Disney, w/Tim Conway) His facial expressions in his It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World cameo are hilarious! I think this film is just about perfect!

Just watched Beyond the Gates (2016). A nice retro movie celebrating 80s horror. Great footage, great music. Watch it!

Maybe differences in car culture? Not enough land to waste? I'm sure that was a factor.

Maybe differences in car culture? Not enough land to waste? Probably a bit of both. Our cars have always been smaller and we don't tend to use them for anything other than getting from A to B. It saves on the cleaning bills, if you catch my drift Space wise, spot on. There wouldn't be enough money to be made to cover the land costs inside a town or city. It would also be too close to residential areas. No one would get planning permission outside a town or city.

By coincidence I saw the promo that Svengoolie will be airing The Ghost & Mr. Chicken next week (Don Knotts and Dick Sargent).

I did think about the size of your cars, must be fun getting it on in a Mini Cooper On the other hand I had to drive my parents station wagon. The only thing it was cool for was the drive-in We still have one in the area: mansfielddrivein.com/

Well, not unless you're a certain type of adult who prefers more "adventurous" pursuits... When you say "Mini Cooper" are you referring to the old type? Because the new Minis are spacious in comparison!
