Ditch, one main drawback that I and a few others have with this format is difficulty in posting pics.
If there's an easy workaround to upload pics rather than have them hosted somewhere, that would really liven things up around here.
There are technical reasons why hosting here doesn't work well. Just use Imgur like everyone else. It's super easy, and it's free. Below is from the "How To" area. The Easiest Way to Post an ImageI tried to post a screenshot of all the locked threads here that were in comics general. Most had my name in it. I was checking all of my notifications for the day, and I was denied access to all but 1. I guess I should have set up an Imgur account. They removed all of the locked threads.

Mike, send me the image through the CGC chat forums or through other social media and I'll post it here.

Ditch Fahrenheit , can we rename the General Discussion area the Water Cooler? I think that would be a cool nod towards the history of the old WC on the CGC boards. I like that idea and I think others migrating from the deleted CGC Water Cooler will too. Done.

This is just being bastards. This is not just a handover of moderation, this is a "kill the educated, burn everything else, pretend this guy here created us all and we've only existed since now, issue new school textbooks stating life began six months ago" crazed cultish behaviour.

Stu posted this at CGC in the Locke & Key thread. I didn't see the original list so I don't know which areas were mentioned.

Hi guys, Here's my two cents. I think there's a very good chance that CGC will shut down their entire forum. It costs them hosting fees and employee wages to keep it running, and I don't think they need it now like they did when they were first starting out in the industry. I think they view it as nothing more than a liability and an annoyance. Sure, they're aware of some of the positive benefits, but I don't think it means much to them; you can tell by the way they are acting and the way they are treating people. It's pretty awful. Given the above, I think the highest deletion risk area of the remaining forum is the sales area. CGC has little control over it, and hosting it is a risk and an expense to them. I'm actually surprised they didn't nuke it at the same time that they deleted the Water Cooler and everything else. I can't see why they'd want to keep it around, the negatives outweigh the positives. I'm willing to host it here, and I have some time available this weekend. Alternatively, if you just want to use this forum for storage until you find a different forum, that's fine too. Just don't wait around, I think time is limited. At the very least, someone should store all the historical information so it's available when needed (rules, probation lists, HOS list, etc., etc.)

Unfortunately, I think you might be right. I hope not, but their behavior currently on the forums doesn't foreshadow confidence that they'll be around indefinitely.
What they could be going for is a neutered chat forum presence. Very barren and strongly policed without any real, lively chats, but a presence none the less, for customers to see an appearance of customer service and interaction.
Almost like a "comments" section for their products.
And eventually, I think it'll be AI bot moderation and that's it.
I think that community as we will remember it is on it's last legs.

Take CBCS as an example. When they first come out with a forum, we gave them a list of about 50 thousand improvements that were necessary. They said, "Oh yeah, yeah, we plan on making most of those improvements soon, this is just an early version. Just bear with us for right now." To date, I don't think they've made a single improvement. They just don't give a hoot about their forum. And regarding their Marketplace, you'll notice they've never had one.
