Going to be 32 today. Told the wife to have all the fans going. Dogs dont do well in the heat, even bought them a cooling mat.
Pretty neat thing, their weight on the mat activates something and makes it cool. Tried it myself, its neat

They work by conduction/radiation. Pretty cool (literally). link

Smokey...really, really smokey from the 'Camp Fire.' So bad you don't want to walk around outside. It's playing havoc with my sinuses. 52,000 people evacuated, 59 dead, and 130 people (mostly elderly) missing. Evidence seems to point to PG&E (again). They've officially stated they won't be able to afford any insurance claims...they can't even pay the claims from last year. Doesn't stop them from spending tens of millions in bribes though. Notice the spike in 2010? Guess why?

It's like living in a chimney. People are wearing masks everywhere. All the schools and universities are shut down. We're being told to shelter in place and not go outside unless we have to. This is a NASA photograph from 11/8. This is from 11/14. (active fires are highlighted in red)

Bloody hell, mate That's awful. I hope the situation is brought under control soon. Yeah, it sucks. I feel really bad for all those people. 76 dead, and the missing number has skyrocketed to ~1300, almost 10,000 homes destroyed. President Trump visited yesterday. Personally, I'm getting cabin fever from being cooped up inside for so long.

My furnace has a filter but it's not HEPA. I'm thinking about doing this...

I have double pane windows that seal pretty well. When I go outside (which is almost never now), I can see, smell and taste the smoke; so there's a big difference between inside and outside. It would be great if it rained soon (possible chance on Wed.).
