I knew someone who would hose down their roof near day's end, claiming the evaporation helps cool the house faster in the evening. It makes sense, but I never tried it. Yes, I've done this for years. It takes a lot of water to cool down brick walls though. Yep. Brick house, double-driveway, and on a corner lot so there is twice the blacktop surrounding us. I couldn't afford that water bill... |

The building we live in is brick,and half the day you've got to avoid one side of the house or other because the sun just bakes it.There is exposed brick in the sunporch add on,and it gets hot like a kiln. |

Yeah, any brick wall on the south side needs to have trees or climbing vines or some type of plant blocking the sun or it will get hotter then Hades.

I never knew Chilliwack was a real place. So is Dildo, Newfoundland. They have a mascot, a crusty old sea-man named Captain Dildo. I  you not. Yeah, that's where the 'headquarters' of the Water Cooler over on CGC is located Forbush Man and some other voted on this a year or two back. Whatever the fun was, it disappeared quickly afterwards. |

Yeah, I suppose when he wasn't trolling the water cooler with tons of climate change threads that only served to stir up, he was fine. I guess I didn't catch any of that. I mostly stuck to the WC threads where the topic was random randomness in my later days. Don't get me wrong, there was a time that I didn't have a problem with him at all. I even liked him but I just can't stand these guys who have an agenda akin to throwing a grenade in the room and then running away chuckling at the chaos that ensues. There was another WC guy, kingdoginohio, who did much the same thing. He would start threads designed to get people going and then never response in the thread. |
