They had a half off sale on their books in the back room. The books are normally priced .50 each or $100 for a long box. Today it was .25 each or $70 for a long box. I picked up multiple copies Valiant minor keys (2nd turok, 1st Shadowman), Masters of the Universe #1 & #2 from the early 80's from DC Comics, 8 copies of FF #347 2nd print, 2 copies of Legends #1, a run of Jon Sable from #1-7, Alien Worlds #1, a small run of Captain Carrots, about 4 copies of Batman/Superman #12 (New Supergirl costume), Marvel Comics Presents #18 (1st Damage Control) and about 250 other books. Not a lot of keys but some minor keys, nothing worth more than $10-$15. Not too bad of a haul for $70.
I like picking up 80's B&W books whenever I can find them, and also weird books. The best one today was probably Hot-Headed Cyborg Ass-Kicker #4. The biggest disappointment was Desert Storm Sends Hussein to Hell. It was a squarebound book that had a lot of potential but only had one short story about Hussein going to hell. The rest of the book was a sample of Innovation's other books.
I thought I scored big on a Milk & Cheese #1, but it turned out to be 7th printing.

Just got back from New Hampshire. Couple days ago the temperature never got above 62. That was weird. The next day it wasn't much warmer. That was very nice for July. Nice! Good vacation? |

I'm starting to miss the sun now! Get out.  I would but it's too cold to go out... Not really. Today it's warm, overcast and most importantly, it won't get too hot. |

It's probably not a big deal as once you've clicked on the first 'spoiler' link you're pretty much committed to clicking the rest of them. I sort of like it because I'm all "Ooohh, there's more". It's a bonus. |

Are you in San Francisco or the Arizona desert? SF is cold and foggy most of the time, but the surrounding Bay Area gets tons of sun. This place would look like a desert if it weren't for irrigation. The good thing is the bay winds kick in in the evening and cool us down. I don't have A/C, I just open the windows at night and close them in the late morning...keeps the house pretty cool that way. |
