Warm 21C/70F, sunny intervals but mainly cloudy. Despite the clouds, high UV which broke through and made my skin itch. You sure you're not a towhead? My wife and her siblings are. If we ever went to Arizona I think they would spontaneously combust! No, "Towhead" would be fair...

A tornado came to town Sunday. Just got electricity back today. Apparently it came within a half mile of my house. Super windy, with water threatening to come inside. I went out in it to mitigate some drainage so the water wouldn't slip under the exterior wall. After the bad stuff passed my daughter and I went out and played in the rain and the wash. It was her first time to play in the rain and she loved it. Damn dude, I'm glad it missed you. I've been out in a hurricane but those are wimpy compared to tornados. Are tornadoes worse? I recall one in Pennsylvania just west of Harrisburg (maybe 80-81?) that tore up awnings, broke windows and blew stuff around. We didn't know it was classified as a tornado until after the fact. Evidently that area of Cumberland County gets an average of one each year.

Cars are not picked up and thrown 50 miles in a hurricane. Roofs aren't torn off homes in a hurricane. Hurricanes don't just pop up, they can be tracked and prepared for. Hurricanes last longer with high sustained winds but they don't cause the destruction I've seen on TV. I've been outside in a hurricane, I would never go outside in a tornado.

Weather wasn't too bad in DTLA. I'd say it was in the 80s.
