Finally made the blueberry pasta. Sauce was quite rich, essentially a half cup each of fresh Parmesan and provolone, half cup of half&half, and heavy teaspoons each of olive oil and butter(unsalted). I added some berries into the sauce near the end and others after the fact. All in all tasted fine. A takeaway for me was that after just a few bites in I completely forgot about the novelty of the fruit, but was immersed in the taste/texture of the food itself. Pretty good. I think the sauce could feed about four, but next time I’d dilute it a bit more with milk or half & half.

I was worried about hot blueberries not tasting good.

And I just realized that the book and the plate are color coordinated.

I've been drinking mint tea lately. So today I went to the local nursery and bought a mint plant in a 4" plastic pot. Then I went home and transplanted it into a very large container. Looking forward to the fresh leaves it will produce when it gets larger.

I always buy 3 at a time. Target seems to have the best deals. These were $7 each (3 lbs/bag), but you have to use the website.

I usually get the Trader Joe’s frozen berries. They’re $2.29 per lb., so pretty close in price. For me I think the smaller bags give me more flexibility in regards to freezer space, and I know if I had larger amounts I’d just be eating more berries. Not a bad thing, I suppose. I really need to replace those late night cracker binges with something healthier.
