I had the best sushi last night. Was Unagi (BBQ eel) wrapped in the rice with bluefin tuna on top. I think I may go back tonight and have it again, this time taking pictures. It was really well done.

6 posts in, deep Over there...posts = threads comments = posts. I don't know if Chowhound is different now that they took over Chow, but Chow was the weirdest place. You could get mad at someone and swear at them all day long, but if you brought up comic books (which we, of course, did ), they would yank the thread.

Myprotein.com was having a 35% off sale, so today I bought 22 lbs of Whey Protein with free shipping. I make a mean blender smoothie with whey, frozen yogurt, frozen banana, blueberries and cinnamon. But most times I just shake it up by hand with whey, a little frozen OJ concentrate and water.

I bought a 7 qt. slow cooker yesterday. My other one was too small, and I also wanted to use it for remodeling. Remodeling you say? Yes. For example, you have a whole bunch of painted door hinges because the who painted the house before was...well...a . Throw those bad boys in the slow cooker overnight and all that paint just sloughs off - no chemicals or sanding required. Anyway...on to the slow cooker conspiracy. There is no truth in advertising. I physically checked this out myself because the recipes never work. My old slow cooker was a 5 qt. But upon checking, it cannot cook anything larger than 4 qts. The new cooker is specified as 7 qt. capacity, but upon testing it only holds 6 qts. There is a lip that holds the lid on these cookers. You cannot fill past the lip when you cook. Yet, the manufacturers count this unusable volume in their specifications. Bastards. That's like saying a car can carry 20 people if they are standing on the roof and hood.

I was listening to talk radio, and they said that this recipe has become one of the most downloaded sites on the internet. It looks really good...I must admit. Cowboy ButterlinkINGREDIENTS 1 c. butter, melted Juice of 1/2 a lemon 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 small shallot, minced 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish Pinch of cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp. paprika 2 tbsp. Freshly Chopped Parsley 1 tbsp. freshly chopped chives 2 tsp. minced thyme kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper DIRECTIONS In a small bowl, combine butter, lemon juice, garlic, shallot, mustard, horseradish, cayenne, and paprika. Whisk to combine. Stir in parsley, chives and thyme and season with salt and pepper. Serve with grilled meats, like steak or chicken, for dipping. It also tastes delish with cornbread!
