these were also included, and originally i was going to sell them on ebay but the quality of the books look unread - i looked up prices on 9.8 books and was surprised at what some books in the run go for example #3, #35 - @organic Squishee why is #35 worth so much?

Nam #52 is another example. This resulted in tiny tears in the spine, in various places, about 1/4" long. The 9.8s that are on the census are EXTREMELY marginal 9.8s, and mostly exhibit that tearing, though to a much smaller degree. No doubt, the copy you picked up will have that tearing in a spot or two.

so my copy looks clean, but worried about that top on the back cover I see Hado answered it. Your copy IS very clean, but it still has that flaw...look at the spine, to the left of ""Blood and Claws!", and again, just above the top of the bottom staple. I'd be worried about the fuzziness around the top staple, back cover. Looks like this is going to be held at 9.6.

I see it now. I couldn't see it earlier and I didn't like the tearing near the top staple either

Watson was wrong in that thread. He said "there are issues without the printing defect."
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I suspect I'm not. I've looked at dozens, if not hundreds, of copies of this book, and every single one of them had this problem, to one degree or another.
I've never seen a copy without this flaw.
Sound confident?
Sure, and I'd love, love, LOVE to be proven wrong.
Those 9.8s on the census...they all have that defect in some way.

THIS copy: ...looks clean, but I suspect it's got the flaw in at least one place on the spine, but because it doesn't break color...that is, the "tear" didn't reveal the white underneath...that's why it got the 9.8. Plus, it was newsstand, which is a different press run. I may have said that in that thread. I haven't seen it in person, but I can guarantee you, I'd find that flaw on that book. Again...I'd LOVE to be proven wrong, but I suspect CGC did the same thing with this that they did with Harby #1...decided to overlook the production flaw.

Look at the spine near the center of the UPC box. See anything there...?
