I still have my original cassette.love it. Mine was vinyl... but I don't have a turntable anymore! I need to get a CD copy. A few years back, I was having a conversation with a person a generation below. They were describing this "old TV show" they'd seen from the 80s where one of the characters was using "this thing that was like a Walkman but you put in this funny thing with wheels and tape". Imagine a life where you'd never experienced vinyl or cassette tapes!?! It's good to be "old" I still appreciate vinyl. The cover art, the stuff inside. Maybe I romanticize too much, but there's an element missing for someone coming up a music fan in the current generation, despite easy access to the artist and content, there's something missing. Maybe I romanticize too much.

Maybe I romanticize too much. I'd say you just like vinyl! Nothing wrong with that I'm the same with CDs. Love 'em. If I want to play music in the house, I put in a disc. I like having the music on a physical medium. I only use a personal MP3 player as it's convenient. I also prefer the CD digital quality and ease of use over the warmth of vinyl. That hasn't always been the case... When CDs first came out, I took a long time to convert, but once converted, I never looked back. Just as well seeing turntables (or "record players") disappeared pretty quickly over here once CDs arrived. Now they're back, they're quite expensive!

My brother and I loved cassette tapes because you could play them in your car, portable Walkman, etc. We never bought vinyl because then we'd just have to buy blank cassette tapes to tape the vinyl, and why waste that money?

You really couldn't separate your weed from the seeds on a cassette cover like you could on an Emerson, Lake & Palmer gatefold sleeve. Just one guess.

Actually,it never seemed indy...there was a great label out of Montreal(where we were always hitch hiking to ) that pressed great local stuff(VoiVod,Cryptic Slaughter)to all the early thrash..Slayer,Metallica,Celtic Frost ect.Highly sought after now,the Bonzai label. Seeds have gotten so scarce, but I wont pay..sheesh.

We used Cheech and Chong's "Big Bambu" to get the seeds out. You'd never find an ELP album at our house
