SS Decontrol's "Get It Away" ep has to be considered a forerunner and major influence on bands playing heavy thrash metal in the later 80's and beyond. Tracks #1&2 "Glue" and "Forced Down Your Throat" (in particular) were revered by both straight edge kids and HC fans alike for their awesomeosity. Both tunes still stand up today. Cover art on this was done by Brian Shroeder (Pushead) who in a few short years went on to fame doing Metallica art for Zorlac Skateboards. SSD unfortunately launched themselves into oblivion trying to ape AC/DC on their "How We Rock" release, leaving Gang Green to rule the roost of Boston HC for years to come.
It's 12 minutes that in context of the early 80's many will appreciate imo. .

I'd love to chat in this thread, but I've never even heard of some of these bands, and the bands I do know I'm not much of a fan of . I did notice that Jamey Jasta is wearing a Crowbar shirt in the latest Hatebreed video.

A classic from 1987. I wonder if Scott still wears a Public Enemy tee everywhere.

I did notice that Jamey Jasta is wearing a Crowbar shirt in the latest Hatebreed video. Jamey Jasta is a huge fan of Crowbar. When Hatebreed were up and coming, he organised a Hatebreed gig with Crowbar headlining. Cost him an arm and a leg to get Crowbar but he said it was worth every penny. They've since formed a side project called Kingdom of SorrowCheck them out! I have both albums and they're really good.

I still have my original cassette.love it. Mine was vinyl... but I don't have a turntable anymore! I need to get a CD copy. A few years back, I was having a conversation with a person a generation below. They were describing this "old TV show" they'd seen from the 80s where one of the characters was using "this thing that was like a Walkman but you put in this funny thing with wheels and tape". Imagine a life where you'd never experienced vinyl or cassette tapes!?! It's good to be "old"
