I like the term give 'em the sack. That's what we say. Sack rather than fire.

I like the term give 'em the sack. That's what we say. Sack rather than fire. The origin of that is great. Strummer must have said it a trillion times in one of the Clash books I read-maybe Redemption Song?Anyhow,he had a big boner for sacking people and saying how he was going to sack em or wanted to sack em or did sack em.Got on me. I picture a bag punch.

It irritates me when......the laws of physics prohibit me from traveling back in time and purchasing all of those wonderful golden age comics for 10 cents. Yes, this irritates me!

If it's any consolation, if you could go back in time and buy comics at 10c, you'd probably just come back to a future where they're worthless because somehow you managed to alter the timeline. You should write a book on that though. You could call it "Bry-Fi".

It irritates me when I've arranged the beer in the fridge so I know where the cold ones are just to go back 30 minutes later and find them all on the same shelf

What's really fun is that, while we perceive time in a line, it's anything but. The entire universe only exists as a single point: the present. We can no sooner travel to the past than we can travel through a black hole and come out "the other side." It doesn't exist. There's nowhere in the past to go "to." The past only exists in the collective memories of entities which can remember; it does not exist in any physical way. Neither does "the future." The universe that existed when I began this post is no more, and never will be again. Trippy, huh?

It irritates me when we go out shopping and I buy myself a bag of Nik Naks*, just to find someone else is eating them whilst I'm driving home

I have to get my car smogged every year. California cash grab In Britain, we have to have an MOT (Ministry of Transport) Test every year, by law. It's a safety inspection of the entire running gear, plus an emissions check. If your car fails, you have to get it fixed or scrap it. Without the MOT, we can't get insurance or the insurance becomes invalid... and, by law, we have to have car insurance!
The MOT costs $40 approx. The cost to get it though depends on what needs to be done. It can be expensive, particularly if your car is more than 5 years old.

My garage queen is 16 years old so it's been getting checked every year for the last four or five years and maybe every other year before that.

My two daily drivers have about 140,000 miles each. They both drive decent, but one has a transmission issue going on so that's going to be an expensive repair.
