Every so often I see a cover and something pops out at me. It just happened again. I was perusing the sales threads over at the CGC boards and came across this cover. "Ringo! His name makes badmen tremble." Yeah, those guys really look scared And since when is "badmen" one word? Maybe it was used that way because there was a 1951 western movie titled, Best of the Badmen. Below is the original cover for comparison

Here's an interesting comparison. A post-code Atlas horror cover re-used in the bronze age Attachments:

Noticed something else about the Ringo Kid covers. On the original, there is no roof above Ringo's head but on the # 1, there is what appears to be a roof. Ringo's shadow on the wall is the same on both covers. The roof would likely have altered the shadow.

Dead of Night contained reprints but I don't know if the entire series was only reprints or if there were some original stories as well. I'd have to check comics.org

This cover has always bothered me. Other than Lando, none of the characters look like the real thing. Didn't Cynthia Martin ever see Star Wars?? She wasn't even trying here. Even 3PO looks odd And what's that insectoid thing hiding behind Leia? Space bunnies with an antenna?? wtf??

That's a weird cover, but it's a lot better than the Star Wars cover. They way Chewy is hold Lando is kind of creepy.
