Oh... "American" cheese. Some of that is actually real cheese, and some of it is processed "cheese food" that usually has more in common with the plastic wrapping it than actual cheese.
Protip - if you see cheese slices that are individually wrapped, avoid at all costs. That's "cheese food". Always wondered why they have to call it that... and not just either cheese or food. Like, is this what the cheese eats?
