Ha, when I started recollecting FF...#164-300 in NM HIGH GRADE was my ultimate goal. Tricky how those goals keep growing/expanding.

Often times I also "settle" for just having a low grade copy filling the gap in a run. Most of my Silver and Bronze multiples are made up of a beater followed by a mid grade then VF or better.

I have a small batch of FF's in transit to me now. Should be here in a few days. It comes from California, drives through my city and continues a few hundred miles north to Eugene, Or., then comes back down to me

It comes from California, drives through my city and continues a few hundred miles north to Eugene, Or., then comes back down to me I've seen stuff like this. A long time ago I decided that some engineer-type person plotted out routes that were most expedient for processing the majority of freight in the long run rather than have a truck stop every thirty miles to load/unload along the way. I think less goes wrong this way. Your books won't get to you any faster, but you can be pretty sure you'll get them intact when the time comes. Hang tough.

I prefer most comics from the 80's and newer to be NM, older comics I am ok with a solid VF and even in lesser condition (F/F+) if I feel that the copy is relatively sharp in appearance. I don't collect Golden Age comics, but if I did I would not be able to afford collecting in higher grades.

I don't see him posting at CGC either. He was one of the best posters there. That's a shame. His posts were always interesting. He was posting there the last time I looked...a few days ago.
