I prefer most comics from the 80's and newer to be NM, older comics I am ok with a solid VF and even in lesser condition (F/F+) if I feel that the copy is relatively sharp in appearance. I don't collect Golden Age comics, but if I did I would not be able to afford collecting in higher grades. I think the beaters have a certain je ne sais quoi.I agree. I just don't know what.

As a Proud Bottom Feeder, I approve of this post. I've always been a quantity over quality guy, I'd rather buy ten $10 books than one $100 book.

That's a shame. His posts were always interesting. He was posting there the last time I looked...a few days ago. I don't tend to look very hard over there anymore.

I've been hunting down xmen to complete my run, I've got 200 to 400 down and quite disappointed with the quality I've gotten in the 200's. I would have thought people would be selling them at nm condition but most I've gotten are vf at best. Not impressed with people unloading their garbage or expecting me to pay 10 dollars for an uxm 231...

I would think that UXM was the most "collected" series for that era other than maybe ASM, so those higher grade copies are certainly out there. Asking prices are another animal all together, though.

I often wonder if I'd feel seller's remorse if I ever listed what UXM I have, and they later became hot. While I enjoyed the books at the time, for some reason Mutant books just make me yawn. I imagine the 90's play a part in it. I probably would to a degree.

A few Avengers and Defenders gap fillers (Defenders 27 was free), some FF for the rebuild, and proper scans of the double cover I recently found (the 2nd image is the inner cover).

Nice comics Siggy!! I just love the cover to Giant Size FF #1 & the interior art by Buckler/Sinnott is PURDY! I am drooling over those Kirby FF's! I am slowly working backwards with my FF collection and will probably be dead before I get to the Kirby stuff. It makes me sick to know I used to own so many of those early FF issues and stupidly sold them off years ago.
