This weather makes for lousy umbrella sales. Where's my government bail out? Canada Post lost the cheque.

We're having normal weather too. Unforntunately, normal weather for this time of year is too hot and too humid for me. I know I complain a lot about Summer weather. I need to stop that. I just hate it so much. Me too... it's like Autumn now! Gale force winds and rain...

They were talking about the west coast heat wave on the news. That's pretty crazy.

I'm not a rules & regulations guy, but sometimes I think it wouldn't be a bad idea if people had to pass a written test before they could raise children. And in some cases, name them. I think baby naming should be voted on by a group of your peers, something like jury duty. You get called in once a year and vote 'yay' or 'nay' on any names under consideration. You wouldn't get to meet the parents or know anything about them to help avoid any potential bias. This would still allow somewhat for regional and cultural differences in how a person is named.

I hate to see any negative burdens or influences placed on or around kids. That sort of thing rankles me.

Some people names their kids with absolutely zero consideration as to how that name will affect them once they start interacting with other children
