It's the virgin snow that makes the difference, you try that after every other (CENSORED) has had their turn and your likely to loose. I certainly wasn't able to drive that fast on the way home. Sometimes new snow is "crunchy" if it's not too wet, if that makes sense to anyone. I once knew a guy who lived in Alaska for fifteen years. He told me the traction is in the snow that nobody has run over yet, stay out of the ruts if you can.

I guess it depends on the situation. If I had everything I need when the crippling storm starts, I'll take that. I hate the heat, but starving sucks too, I hear. My opinion of snow has change radically within the last few years. We had a couple of recent winters where we just got buried. I remember walking out my front door one morning to 36 inches of snow (not that much was predicted mind you) and we lost power. Another winter, we got significant snowfall every week for the month of January, to the point where I was having a hard time finding places to shovel it. I really hate snow now. I never thought anything could eclipse my hatred for hot and humid but here was are. This was the first snow of the year in 2014 (iirc), that is my foot. I live an hour east of Jeffro.

That reminds me of having to shovel little paths and a clearing for the poor dogs back in PA.

He told me the traction is in the snow that nobody has run over yet, stay out of the ruts if you can. The same goes for walking on snow. This last winter was our worst snow in decades. It would get warm enought to melt the snow between the ruts and they'd freeze over night. People walking through parking lots looked drunk, nobody was walking a straight line.

Very pleasant today. Yesterday was nice as well. Temps just shy of 80 and dew points in the low 50s. If Summer was like this all the time, I'd have no complaints. Probably won't have any more days like this until at least September

The weather report says it's not going over 70F all weekend. As an estimate, how often do temps get above 85 where you live? Are you in a humid area?

Probably just for a few days, once a year. Britain is a fairly moist country, so the humidity can get quite high during summer.
