We call that aquaplaning. I remember being fascinated when my Grandfather told me how it occurred... The first time it happened to me, that fascination quickly turned into something else Poop? Let's just say the colour of adrenaline is brown...

I once did a 360' on an icy street. Going pretty slow but it was still pretty scary. That happened to me one night on the highway coming home from work. I wasn't even going too fast. I felt the back end of the car start to fishtail and then the car started turning. I though I was going to hit the guardrail but somehow the car came to a stop, stalled, and facing the wrong way. Luckily, there was only one other nutjob on the highway during that storm and he was pretty far back. I worried that the car wouldn't start but it did and I slowly continued home. Very scary. I once hit a patch of black ice on approaching a 90° right angle turn in the road. I braked just as I hit the ice and the car slid towards the wall ahead of me. It stopped with only about a foot to spare. Fortunately, I'd slowed to about 15mph on the approach. 20 and it would've different.

super crazy thunderstorms here. The dog is trying to hide underneath me. We had a dog that did that when I was a kid. If someone was sitting at the table he'd try to sit between your legs. If no one was at the table he'd squeeze between the couch and wall. Storms or vacuum cleaners, same reaction.

I once did a 360' on an icy street. Going pretty slow but it was still pretty scary. "Turn into the slide, turn into the slide" and a moment later I'm facing the same direction. :o I was about two blocks from getting home. I used to do this on purpose in the rain, one friend even started calling 360. It's great fun when you're in control of it, not so much when you're not.

I couldn't do that. I don't have any daredevil genes in me. I'm a big scaredy-cat.

Only 95 right now Big lightning storm came through 4 hours ago. I witnessed the last cluster of bolts on the way home 90 minutes after it started. We got a "power bump" that shuts down some of our more sensitive machinery. The temperature plummeted to 70 degrees, and buckets of rain fell. This was supposed to happen tomorrow. Many co-workers had their car windows wide open (I didn't- I trust no one). Huh. Bloody weather.
