You should have one of these sunshades. Is it just me/am I crazy? I figure, the shield needs to be on the OUTSIDE of the car to work effectively. You know why I say that? Sure, those keep the sun from heating up the interior, but they let your windshield bake in the sun for hours. Glass is not a great thermal conductor, so it heats slowly. But bake it for hours, it also does not cool off slowly, either. And your windshield is a large, rather thick piece of glass! After being in the sun all morning, I get in my car to go to work and it's usually a 20-25 minute drive, and my windshield is hot the entire time. And the reflective ones actually heat up the glass faster as instead of the radiation from the sun passing through the glass once, it is immediately bounced back, therefore shortening the time it takes to heat up your large windshield/heat-sink. Put some sort of reflective windshield guard on the outside of the car. Maybe make it so it fits in with the windows rolled up so it can't be easily stolen. But you will have a cooler car doing it this way. Amiright? You're right, but there'd need to be that feature built in to the manufacturing of the car. That might not make sense from a cost standpoint. There's probably a solution out there for some nineteen year old to come up with and make him or her a billionaire.

I have ceramic window tint on my car and with the help of the window shades it really feels like it helps with cutting down the temperature in my car even on really hot days.
