It's supposed to be 96 here on Saturday. I looked up Phoenix, AZ and it's supposed to be 121 on Tuesday.

Only going to be about 70 today with some rain Mowed the lawn yesterday. Pulled some weeds and saw a tiny snake. tried to grab it but was too slow Not venomous, I'll guess? Do you get many snakes in the garden?

Do you get many snakes in the garden? Nah, it was most likely a garter snake. Not venomous. We get some critters but not nearly as many as when we moved in. The previous owner had turned the back yard into a big flower garden. We had all kinds of neat things. Praying mantises all over the place, spiders, bees, and a snake or two were not at all unusual.

That's one thing we don't have around here that I wish we did. In fact I've only seen a few praying mantises in the wild myself. Lately I've been collecting fireflies/lightning bugs for the boys. I let them go in their room, then we let them out the window. Them garter snakes are wimps no matter how big they are.

Parked my car inside a garage today so that way it wouldn't be so hot when I drove home. Mid 90s today.
