It's all just so surreal. Trump does something outrageous, and heretofore unheard of, and everyone on the other side cries foul. But the reality is that he hasn't done anything illegal yet, just unethical and unseemly. Let's take this Paris agreement: It's non-binding, we wouldn't actually be able to withdraw until November 2020, the market has already turned from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Trump built it up as a problem that was going to cost jobs and choke our economy. Him pulling the U.S. out of that was merely a symbolic and empty gesture to please his base, fulfill a campaign promise. Texas is oil country, but it also is the largest producer of wind energy in the U.S. With the latest findings of the United States Geological Survey, our reserves of natural gas will last far into the future and only promises to make coal almost obsolete in the U.S. I say almost because there is still a place for coal, just not in the energy market. Coal can be processed into activated charcoal, which can be used to make CO2 scrubbers for legacy energy systems. I'm sure there are other chemicals that can be extracted from the coal to be utilized in manufacturing something. Petroleum is dying. The world is waking up, and they see solar panels in the sunshine. Wind turbines are the the new American Bison, spreading out across the great plains, fueling the future for our chindren. The deserts are barren no longer, but filled with farms, both solar panels and algae, harvesting the bounty that our star is bestowing upon us.
Sorry, where was I?
"God protects children and fools", and Trump is a foolish child.
It remains to be seen whether he has actually committed a crime. I would rather have DJ's drunken stumble all over the political spectrum than Pence's hard right evangelical stance.

This would all be laughable if it wasn't so destructive and wasteful. Partisan politics are killing this country. IMO we should vote out anyone from either side who plays this game and possibly create a third political party for voters who are sick of this.I like this idea. The two party system is so limiting, but time and time again we see voters afraid to "waste their vote" on a third party candidate. I don't know how this ever changes. UK General Election - June 8th. Should be interesting. So, what happened and what is the general mood?

UK General Election - June 8th. Should be interesting. So, what happened and what is the general mood? Way to screw up the country... twice in one year. The Prime Minister's gamble to increase the Conservative majority backfired and they lost seats. We ended up with a Hung Parliament and the Conservatives have had to form a coalition with one of the smaller parties. Together, they barely have a majority. The main opposition party's popularity has (miraculously) increased over the last few weeks, despite being led by people who can't do basic mathematics. Numpties. The lot of 'em.

Something will eventually fill the gap. Then that carves the parties up and they have to change their strategies. Before Ross Perot screwed up his campaign in 1992, he was leading in the polls with 37%...Bush and Clinton were way behind. Even after he reentered, he finished with almost 19% of the popular vote. A lot of people thought he could have won.

I have voted Independent candidates for may presidential elections now. I do not consider it "wasting my vote". It's a message to the Big Two - "I don't like either of your parties." If enough people tell them that way, they either 1) get the message and start doing things a little less fucky, or 2) we end up with an Independent party as president one day, as more and more people get disenfranchised with the political BS out there rampant in the system which is run by, you guessed it, The Big Two.

Going back to Comey, there was something in his memos that I saw never come up in the news. Trump is told about some sensitive material then months later he's denying 'hookers"

Also the us president should be one 6 year term Yeah, I agree. It takes more than 4 years for most policies to take hold to begin with. With 2 four year terms, the President spends 2-3 years of the first term getting re-elected, so that time is totally wasted. A single, six year term would solve all of that.

I like it. One six year term and that's it. let them focus on getting the job done and not using a bunch of that time to get re-elected.
