Thank you. I do my best to try to pick a unique tag every time I register to a new place. Needless to say I'm not a huge fan of CBR right now, but I usually like it.

Hello!
I've been collecting off and on for thirty years. It started out as a hobby between my dad and I. What really kicked off my interest in comics was the Tim Burton's Batman. It was my first theater experience. Dad and I dabbled in buying comics here and there but didn't really take off until 1992/1993 when X-Men was just about everywhere you look.
My tastes have changed over the years and my current interest is in horror titles from pre-code to the independent 80s, early 90s. Some favorite artists are Al Williamson, Tom Sutton, Alex Toth, Bernie Wrightson, and Steve Rude. My favorite Mikes are Mike Allred, Mike Mignola, Michael T. Gilbert, and Mike Kaluta.

Welcome to the forum! I’m super into the mystery/horror titles myself(specifically BA DC), and enjoy much of the art from those mentioned like Williamson, Sutton, and Wrightson. Have you had a chance to check out the Joe Hill stuff from DC’s Black Label?

Despite DC's early horror I haven't paid too much attention to what they have done outside the normal superhero comics. I will look into this. Thank you!

Hello again! It's been a bit. My message board usage took a nosedive over the last couple of years as I was working from home, so I no longer needed to kill time at work! We returned back to the office last March, but most of the boards I was a member of were suddenly blocked by the new software the employer was using. At any rate, I was recently able to hop back on the CGC Boards, and was getting caught up over there, and saw a link over here, which reminded me that I hadn't been here in years! Good to see everyone. Thanks Ditch as always for the hang out spot. Hopefully I can visit more regularly.
Happy Turkey, y'all.

My name is Ruben Glueck Let me begin by thanking the forum staff for accepting me into the Comic Book Forum. I have always loved comics, and now I have all of you who love comics too to share our appreciation for this magnificent art form. I work for a market research company as a data collector and I drive Uber. I have a PhD in mathematics and I am a former lecturer at California State University, Northridge in LA county, USA. My favorite comics are Spiderman and Fantastic Four and who among us doesn't love Superman? When I was a child, I was so overwhelmed by the idea that a comic book that costs 10 cents could be sold for $100 that I thought if I saved my comics in mint condition, it would make me rich. $100. What a laugh! I recently read that Hulk number 1 was auctioned for $670,000. Worth every penny. I am already rich in many ways that have nothing to do with the balance of my checking account. And I wouldn't part with a single comic in my collection for any price! These days the characters we adore so much are in blockbuster movies. I never in a million years thought I would see Spiderman web slinging across New York in a movie and have it look so real. As a Marvel fan, I am a true believer, now more than ever. How do you like my picture? I drew it myself Congratulate me. It's a comic book forum and I am delighted to be here! Ruben
