Welcome actor! Poke around in some older threads when you have time. There’s good info buried in some of them. I’m also a fan of FF, but haven’t really kept up since Hickmans’s time on the books.

You haven't missed much, to be honest. Hickman really was the last great one, and the last really decent run too.

Hello! I'm Spello!
I'm a freelance illustrator and comic artist, been dipping my toes into the indie scene mostly by way of webcomics. I love smaller press works but also have come to love larger presses like Image. I'm a big fan of Saga and Step By Bloody Step. I read some manga but it's difficult to get hold of around here. Most of what I'm into is the creation process behind those pages as I work in the pipeline and recently had my own graphic novel: Now Hiring published just this fall.
I basically draw and stuff, I'm not knowledgeable about the comic collection hobby. I'm more about the comics making life and the unique artistry that goes into it and how it varies from illustration alone. Weeeee. Hopefully some of you are art nerds or creators yourself.

Hi terrax, welcome! You lucked into some good comics to start out with. Some good stories coming out of all three titles at the time. If you haven’t, hunt down the earlier FF issues John Byrne was writing(in fact go back to #1 regardless, the first 290-some issues are good reads to me, my favorite series.) and ASM was pretty good at the time as I recall. Any other favorite titles or characters? Comics were really broadening their scope in that time. Lots of indies and self-published books. A fertile and creative period for certain. Explore some older threads here as you’re able, and don’t be afraid to start a few of your own or ask questions. Have fun!

Have fun! my favorites have always been fantastic four, amazing spiderman , daredevil and the x-men , but i loved all the marvel characters from back then . i stll get ff and asm , but had to stop getting x- men. its just so bad now . i have ff back to 205 and quite a few before . even some in the 40s . x-men back to 140 . there were a lot of small press stuff back then . elfquest , tmnt , its hard to remember of the top of my head . dark horse had good stuff , eclipse , pacific . i almost forgot groo and usagi . i have both of those back to the beginning .
