Hello. New member here. I just submitted my first comic to be graded by CGC and was looking into what the process would be. I’ve been a member there for about a year, and have not had access (it states I’m banned) to their boards to read up on it. Thanks for having me.

Not sure why you'd be banned, but just clear your cache if you want to read the board. I believe the chatboards and CGC.com are separate - can you still access your dashboard to track the book?

Hello,
I am fairly new to comic collections. I have a question about the vue of a comic I recently aquired.
It is “The Walking Dead: Michonne Special #1” Is has a CGC grading of 9.8 and was signed by DENAI GURIRA which i am excited about. I paid $300 for it but I am worried I may have overpaid. And I have the option to return the comic
Does anyone have an idea of what this comic may actually be worth today? In greatful in advance for anyone sharing there expertise.
Blizzy

Hi all. I'm Zorno and i've been into comics pretty much since I was born. I'm 50 years old and practically learned to read through Spidey Super Stories comics in the early 70's. Always have lived in a small town and loved going to the general store after church and picking up a comic for a quarter or 30 cents. I read and abused all of them (rolling them up, drawing in them, cutting the stamps out, etc,,,). Wish I had all of them in prime condition now, but wouldnt trade the fun and memories for anything. Started seriously collecting in the 80's up through the 00's. I like all the companies, but was always more partial to Marvel. Growing up my favorite heros were The Thing, Black Panther (before it was the in thing to like him), Wonder Man, and Ms. Marvel. Life happened and I got out of the game for awhile. I belonged to a few forums and semi kept up with events and really fell in love with The Sentry. I know most people hate him, but I love that character. Anyways, my collection was strung out everywhere (storage units, mothers house, around the house, etc,,,) and my wife told me I had to move the stacks that were sitting on the top shelves of the closets. Just going through thoses and replacing the sleeves and boards got the bug to bite. While i'm not going to dive into collecting like I used to, i'm finding myself flipping through the long boxes at pawn shops and yard sales again and its starting to worry me.
Regardless of all that rambling, this looks like a great and entertaining site with a lot of knowledge and i'm happy to have found it.

I think most of us have a similar one.

I don't think I have ever formally introduced myself between here or the CBCS or CGG boards.
My name is Buzzetta, Andrew to those that know me well. I got into comics after receiving a Road Runner comic that I still have today. Then came GI Joe. Whoa... The comics were VERY different from the cartoons as I immediately learned and far more engaging. From that I picked up Transformers and as I started to age out of the toys, I wanted to continue reading comics so I picked up Spiderman. I decided that like baseball cards, I wanted a full set... so after picking up my first issue of ASM with #292, I decided to go for them all. It took around ten years to complete a full set. Thanks to the various comic book forums, the members there got me into buying original art, Silver Age and some Golden Age keys and introduced me into picking up EC issues, pre code horror and non-superhero marvel. Thanks to the online community I have discovered and picked up a lot of comics I never believed would be accessible to me.

Blizzy Welcome to the board. The last sale of a 9.8 was $70. There is nothing in GPA for a signed 9.8 copy. You'd have to decide on whether or not the signature is worth 4X the price of a 9.8. If it were me, I'd return the book unless there was some extreme sentimental value to it. Good luck with your decision.

Hey everyone!
rt3d76 here. Comic book fan since I can remember (but I'm a geek of all trades: DOS PC gaming, D&D, toys, models, etc). 'Bronze Age' is probably my favorite era and 'John Buscema' is one of my top favorite artists
This is my first comic book forum

Awesome! Welcome aboard! I’m a “bronze” guy myself and for Buscema I always think of his Conan. The two go hand in hand for me.
