Hey everyone!
rt3d76 here. Comic book fan since I can remember (but I'm a geek of all trades: DOS PC gaming, D&D, toys, models, etc). 'Bronze Age' is probably my favorite era and 'John Buscema' is one of my top favorite artists
This is my first comic book forum
Awesome! Welcome aboard! I’m a “bronze” guy myself and for Buscema I always think of his Conan. The two go hand in hand for me. Exactly! Conan the barbarian series was one of the first of many comics that got me interested. In fact it was issue #117. Lost that one a long time ago and while searching online, ran into a CONAN forum. Asked the question which comic issue had "purple blob creatures with tentacles" (as that was all I could remember) and received the answer a few days later. Went out and bought a nice copy at a local store the next day. Love the internet!

Hello everyone, I've recently arrived here after an invitation from davidpg over on the cgc boards. As for comic book collecting, looking around at current hot books, I had , and sold all of them long before their stratospheric price rise... it's a gift. So if anyone want to know what I'm selling at the moment, feel free to ask In the meantime I'm slowing getting back into things. With hard to find variants my focus these days. Canadian price variants, Mark Jewelers inserts, anything from the late 90's etc etc

You'll find a some great conversation about Covid and politics in the Community forum on this site and none of the heavy handed moderation that is happening on the CGC forum.
Looking forward to see you post here!

There’s some good info and opinion to be found among the threads here, hobby related or otherwise. I too have a soft spot for MJI’s, even as I grapple with the lack of rhyme or reason in favoring a book because of an advertisement. It’s not even a cool ad for army men or delicious hostess fruit pies. Enjoy your time here!

Well now I realized I never introduced myself here!
I've been collecting comics for 40 years, had a comic book and card store in the late 80s and early 90s (a 1,000,000 Comix franchise to start!) and still love the medium. I haven't bought a new comic in over a decade, and have purchased only a handful of books over the last few years. I still have 10000 books, including a run of X-Men from 1 up and piles of other (mostly) lower grade keys and stuff I like. A lot of PCH too! I also have my original comic collection with a couple hundred CPVs (and I'm the thread starter of that one over on the other board).
Loving the MCU and the connection to all the books I have and love, can't wait to see where it's all going!

Dave also still wears his Underoos underwear to this day....apparently they still kinda fit.

What prompted the flurry of posts on that one particular thread?

Thanks Vinnie, this is a breath of fresh air coming here after the crazy personalities over on the CGC boards.

I've been off and on the boards for years. but came back a few times, and just wasn't particularly impressed with things after they changed the format of the boards. A lot of great comic threads just got buried, and then new pale imitations of the same threads would appear. I messaged Steve Filosa a few weeks back or some old pedigree information he put together years ago. And it was a similar story to me, old computers, and old servers long gone, so nothing from him. And then nothing on the CGC boards relating to his old topics would come up.

Oh, we have the odd crazy uncle around here too!
There aren't a ton of people here but it would be cool if some of the more active people on the CGC boards migrated here for some real discussion.
You can't have a real discussion over there. I've spent the past year trying to have real discussion only to have a bunch of angry boardies keep trying to either bait me into politics to have me banned or just pour on the hate with their fingers stuck in their ears like children. And they hide behind moderation knowing that moderation wants me gone.
Funnily enough, those are probably the same 8 or 10 people that show up here to see what's new every time I type something and then go back to the CGC boards to discuss it.
