We went to a pub in the New Forest today. With my pint, I ordered a side of locally produced, seasoned pork rind. Despite warnings from the bar staff, I ordered the "Pig of Doom" chili coated pork rind. My God, I've never eaten anything that hot before. The first one didn't register on the tongue for about 10-15 seconds... then BAM! It was so hot, it made me cough, which just sent the chili powder up my nose. My wife was trying not to laugh. Of course, I'd ordered a plate and I wasn't going to let it beat me. I managed about half of it before asking to take the rest home "for later". My mouth was burning for an hour... When the guy at the bar said "I can only eat one of those", I should have listened. tuff guy eh! Yes,Guinness and Strongbow

Guinness and Strongbow (or any old cider) we used to call Black Velvet. Lager and cider we called Snake Bite. They stopped serving that in pubs years ago as drinkers got pretty rowdy after a few.

The snakebite I've had is just Yukon Jack and lime juice.

I wouldn't drink it now because it tastes like sweetened drain cleaner.

So tasty...

A little later, I am gonna bake off a boneless chicken boob that I covered in my own version of "Mexican" seasonings, heat up the rice leftover from a few nights ago (made with a Goya Sazon packet) along with an ear of corn, and... something else, not sure what yet.

Had some coffee. Going to have more coffee later RIP your toilet. Throw a slice of cactus on that puppy It might be good.... We picked up two dozen farm fresh eggs last week and i'm running out of ways I want to eat them. Eggs Benedict. You already have the Canadian bacon covered ( ) and Hollandaise is really not that hard to make - plus, it uses more eggs!

Eggs Benedict ahhhh...had that a few nights ago. Probably again tomorrow, but with spinach added. Ah. Damn. Just hard-boiled? Make an Angel's Food cake with the whites, and if not using extra whites already, use the yolks in a custard?

So tasty... This from the guy who doesn't like eggs or can appreciate the yummy goodness of some JIF peanut butter? Edit: It's probably not so bad, but anyhow. I never really learned to drink spirits unless mixed with coke, Dr. Pepper, or gingerale. Southern Comfort over ice with pineapple juice, though....

Funnily enough, the missus and I have a date at a new ice cream parlour tomorrow that serves home made custard soft serve. I plan on eating plenty.

I got so sick of cider as a teenager, I would rather take my chances with neat tequila... Straight back. No salt, no lime.

We used to drink Southern Comfort with 7UP (or British style lemonade) during my college years. Tastes almost as good coming up as it does going down.
