do you still ever talk about pancakes? I went through a faze where i was making pancakes every weekend but struggling on cooking them finally perfected them but move on to waffles as they are what my wife prefers We still occasionally discuss pancakes. But I haven't eaten any in years. I love them, but it's just too much sugar for me. I love waffles too, but same deal (although my mom used to make canned fruit toppings for them...mainly plums and peaches because our trees produced too much to eat).

I can't view the underside or would have said termite family. It also looks as if the photo was taken during mating. I won't cheat and look it up so I appear brilliant. I am not.

I can't view the underside or would have said termite family. It also looks as if the photo was taken during mating. I won't cheat and look it up so I appear brilliant. I am not. Excellent guess. So here's the story: The neighbor of one of my properties emailed me (he's a friend), and said I had to get over there. He was watching TV or something and heard a commotion in his back yard. There were a bunch of birds squawking and swooping around. He goes out there and sees a giant cloud of flying insects over the fence in my yard, and the birds are feasting on them. So I go over there, and he and I investigate where he said he saw the swarm. We find a bunch in some spider webs as clues, and then we start digging around in the dirt and sure enough...mud tunnels going right up to the foundation. So I have a bad case of subterranean termites. And I had the place tented just three years ago too. Over the weekend I had a contractor inspect the area, and they'll be spraying poison to kill them off. Total pain in the butt. Next step is get another contractor out to replace some infested wood above the foundation.

This is fascinating, and falls into the category of 'Sometimes Science Goes Too Far,' which has been a topic of concern since Mary Shelley and probably earlier. Given the current pandemic and the 'Gain of Function' research that preceded it, this is extremely relevant to our times. The fish keeping/breeding hobby is in a complete turmoil right now because of the advent of the Lacey Act , which is an attempt to control some of these modified and invasive species. As usual, people fall on both sides of the issue, with some wanting more regulation and others who view this as an attack on their basic freedoms. "What they didn't count on, is that often times poison creatures are ALSO brightly colored."

Okay that's better. Smelled like boiling dog vomit in here when I first opened the door. <turns on big screen, flips around, finally settles on something> Okay...I love Tim Pierce and I love this video. Lots of great info and Tim is hot as a pistol. And the Baked Potato is famous. www.youtube.com/live/WA1wsp5_X1Y?feature=share
