The Dept. Education and the Federal Office of Civil Rights is putting its full weight behind supporting men joining women's athletic teams in public schools and Universities that receive federal funding. And that is supposed to "level the playing field" for girls and women athletes??? 1% of 5% Lets see you get all flustered about something that really matters, like universal healthcare. ETA: Back to 160,000 "non-issue" girls getting squashed by guys playing in "girls" athletics. Those girls don't matter. ETA: Obamacare fixed healthcare. Or so we were sold.

I said cities. You were quick with the states, let's compare the 10 largest Democrat-run cities vs the 10 largest Republican-run cities. Go for it, I showed you mine, you show me yours.

I said cities. You were quick with the states, let's compare the 10 largest Democrat-run cities vs the 10 largest Republican-run cities. Go for it, I showed you mine, you show me yours. I started with poverty. I also started with party of current mayor. I'm not writing a thesis here. Most cities info can be found here, but also elsewhere. POVERTY RATE % Largest Democrat-Run Cities1 NYC 18.0 2 LA 19.1 3 Chicago 19.5 4 Houston 20.6 5 Phoenix 19.4 6 Philadelphia 24.9 7 San Diego 13.8 8 Dallas 20.5 9 San Jose 7.4 10 Austin 14.5 AVERAGE: 17.8 Largest Republican-Run Cities1 Jacksonville 15.9 2 Fort Worth 16.0 3 Oklahoma City 15.8 4 Fresno 26.9 5 Mesa 15.5 6 Omaha 14.3 7 Colorado Springs 12.6 8 Virginia Beach 7.6 9 Miami 24.3 10 Tulsa 19.7 AVERAGE: 16.9
Hmm... well, one may say, population size is a factor, most Dem-run cities are just larger than most Rep-run cities. Okay. Let's continue the comparison, to see if smaller Dem-run cities (smaller than Tulsa) are any better than larger Rep-run cities... Next Largest Dem-Run Cities After Tulsa:1 Wichita 15.2 2 Tampa 19.5 3 New Orleans 24.6 4 Cleveland 34.6 5 Honolulu 11.3 6 Anaheim 15.2 7 Newark 28 8 St. Paul 19.9 9 Santa Anna 10.3 10 Cincinnati 27.2 AVERAGE: 20.6 Next Largest Rep-Run Cities After Tulsa
1 Bakersfield 18.5 2 Aurora 12.0 3 Lexington 15.7 4 Stockton 20.5 5 Henderson 8.5 6 Anchorage 9.2 7 Plano 6.8 8 Chula Vista 10.8 9 Gilbert 5.9 10 Lubbock 20.2 AVERAGE: 12.8 TOTAL AVERAGE OF BOTH SETS OF DEMOCRATIC-RUN CITIES: 19.2% Poverty Rate TOTAL AVERAGE OF BOTH SETS OF REPUBLICAN-RUN CITIES: 14.8% Poverty RateSeems that Dems lose at comparing poverty rates of both the largest and the next-largest cities. Later I'll check violent crime rate, HS graduation rates, etc.

I said cities. You were quick with the states, let's compare the 10 largest Democrat-run cities vs the 10 largest Republican-run cities. Go for it, I showed you mine, you show me yours. After it's clear that Democrat-governed cities have worse poverty rates than Republican-governed cities (despite differences in population sizes), lets move on to violent crime rates: Violent Crime Rate per 100K Largest Democrat-Governed Cities 1 NYC 539 2 LA 761 3 Chicago 1099 4 Houston 1095 5 Phoenix 760 6 Philadelphia 948 7 San Diego 367 8 Dallas 775 9 San Jose 404 10 Austin 415 AVERAGE: 716.3 Largest Republican-Governed Cities 1 Jacksonville 631 2 Fort Worth 560 3 Oklahoma City 787 4 Fresno 565 5 Mesa 416 6 Omaha 410 7 Colorado Springs 524 8 Virginia Beach 138 9 Miami 721 10 Tulsa 1041 AVERAGE: 579.3 Next Largest Dem-Governed Cities After Tulsa 1 Wichita 762 2 Tampa 464 3 New Orleans 608 4 Cleveland 1557 5 Honolulu 246 6 Anaheim 355 7 Newark 896 8 St. Paul 651 9 Santa Ana 488 10 Cincinnati 947 AVERAGE: 697.4 Next Largest Rep-Governed Cities After Tulsa
1 Bakersfield 479 2 Aurora 608 3 Lexington 351 4 Stockton 1415 5 Henderson 185 6 Anchorage 1203 7 Plano 150 8 Chula Vista 298 9 Gilbert 97 10 Lubbock 920 AVERAGE: 570.6 TOTAL AVERAGE VIOLENT CRIME RATE OF DEMOCRAT-GOVERNED CITIES: 706.9 TOTAL AVERAGE VIOLENT CRIME RATE OF REPUBLICAN-GOVERNED CITIES: 575.0 Bottomline:
Regardless of population, Democrat-Governed cities have an average violent crime rate 23% higher than Republican-Governed cities.

Interesting, but expected as those cities have a higher population so one would expect more crime.
With my state statistics it clearly shows that 9 out of the top 10 states with the highest crime rate per capita are overwhelmingly red.

Population is accounted for there.

You missed a very important point. Population is accounted for there. yes "Per 100,000" ... Yep. That, AND.... The "Next largest Democrat-governed cities", those with populations below Tulsa, still have 20% higher violent crime rates than the LARGER Republican-governed cities.

If you did a homeless analysis dem vs republican cities you would have a field day. As far as by state, CA has over 1/2 of all homeless in the entire country..... if you research the figures range from 30% to 70%. Even taking the low figure 30% of homeless for a state with 12% of the pop. And I lean more towards the 60% figure myself.

Doesn't change the data I posted about states. It does render it more meaningless though. Take a "Red" state like Tennessee.... Memphis (Democrat-run) Nashville (Democrat-run) Just those two Democrat-governed cities account for 19% of the state population yet account for 40% of the state's violent crime.
