It also reduced the influence the mods have on the game, which is a good thing. Although I was on the phone with "Jaybuck" this afternoon and this came up... We both laughed at the though of what would have happened if watercooler threads were counted AND if a thread was locked and reopened for it to regenerate points. CGCMod2 would be at the bottom of the scale for the number of times the coronavirus thread was locked. I was sure at one point it was a mod or Arch who had commented on one of Cals threads that, "This is not craigslist missed connections", or "This thread has run its course", locking and getting the last post in. However, I am guessing they did not make the tally board. The other classic locking comment was something like "This thread has been put out to pasture with the others".

That was Sean or Jefro I think

Reopened but points were already awarded. So... now it becomes a question as to whether or not it becomes the first double locked thread garnering a double negative for the originator and who the next three people will be to get points out of it. Personally there was a part of me that was hoping that there would be a message like with what once happened (Was it Arch?) where the mod wrote, "This thread has run its course" and was locked allowing the mod to be considered for points. Locked again

Locked again I generally don’t like to see threads locked, but all those posts in the last few pages were mostly clutter and way off topic. If the op came back with any pertinent update no one would see it amongst the memes and emoji’s.

Locked again It's a one and done point tally. Once a thread is locked the points can be tallied and at that point the thread is dead and no longer considered a viable thread to get points.

You know there's going to be problems when the OP says "To me, there's no difference between "I think I am going to pull the book", versus "I am going to pull the book."

They just locked another one ! Dena herself could be awarded points... What was the old ruling on that? I made my decision Dena will get an honorary 3 points... but so will Kav. It is a rarity that something like it happens... so it should be accounted for.

Buzzetta - Are locked sales threads not counted for purposes of the game/record keeping?

Buzzetta - Are locked sales threads not counted for purposes of the game/record keeping? I have not noticed any but I don't see why they would not be available int he current incarnation of this. The threads that have the lock but have the word 'closed' in front of them were locked by the OP on purpose to indicate that the sales thread is no longer active. EX: Copper for Sale Page 2But if the mods were to lock a thread because of fighting I do not see why that would not be considered if other areas of the forum, except the water cooler, were under consideration. The threads in the FS areas are usually pulled so for them to be locked would be a rarity. Was there something that was missed that you are aware of? In the thread that you are linking me to, the OP locked it himself and cancelled the thread. He was the one that felt it was disruptive and not moderation.
