We've never seen a disease that spreads so easily AND has had the means to spread so widely, so quickly. A modern virus that's taken advantage of the modern lifestyle. I dread to think how bad this will get if the lockdowns/shelter-in-place orders aren't continued. |

I dread to think of the economic fall out this might cause. We might be seeing a good number of shops closing for good without a bit of good fortune and creative intervention happening. I think a lot of small businesses will probably fail due to the lack of business. A lot of people are advocating the purchase of gift certificates since that gets money in the hands of the merchant immediately during the crisis, and that kind of thing could be done online without the physical need to make an appearance in the shop. Win/Win. The gift certificate idea is a good one. |

Evidently (according to a sign on the local Mexican restaurant window), they are now allowed to sell take-out alcoholic beverages too. |
