Regarding Sandman #75 2nd print...
I casually bought some comics in the 1990s--new in comic book stores, bagged & boarded at purchase, and stored in a comic book box. Now, all these years later, I'm sorting through them and probably the only 2 that are potentially worth anything over cover price are Sandman #75 2nd Print (yes, it says "2nd Printing" on the cover instead of "Direct Sales") and Superman #500 (in white plastic bag w/3 trading cards). I'd like to sell them, however searching online value guide, forums, and ebay hasn't given me a great idea of what these are worth, and whether I should send them off to be graded & slabbed.
Looking for advice on what steps I should take with these. Thanks.

I think @organicsquishee can give you some info on it, as well as the Superman #500. CGC Census

It's a very rare book, as the census linked above says. If it's a 9.8 candidate, you wouldn't have too much problem selling it for $2,000 in a 9.8 slab. As is, it's worth a couple hundred dollars. Congrats!

So is that the only difference? It says Second Print instead of Direct Edition in the UPC?

So is that the only difference? It says Second Print instead of Direct Edition in the UPC? No color changes of any kind? How boring.

I would love to own that book, but I'm not paying anything more than a $5, well maybe a little more than that, for it. I'd rather just trying to find one going through dollar boxes than plopping down a couple hundred bucks for it on ebay.

Thanks everyone, and so sorry for the delay. I thought I would get emails when there were replies, so it took me a few days to think about checking online. I took some quick photos and uploaded them here: 1drv.ms/u/s!AmK-jLDSL0wbqWLK1Ixfqm8zDy1D 1drv.ms/u/s!AmK-jLDSL0wbqWO5-LpmcGQVJgGY So it sounds like it's worth the time and effort to get this Sandman #75 graded. I'm leaning toward CBCS because it looks like I can pay $40 and get 2 business day turnaround. Does that sound like the right next step? thanks!

If you get a 9.8 from CBCS, you would probably struggle to get even half of what you could with a CGC 9.8. This is one of those "has to be CGC or don't bother at all" situations.

Thanks for that advice! After posting my last reply, I did see a thread about this (much higher value with CGC), so good info.
One last question: how much does the value drop from 9.8 to 9.6 to 9.4 to 9.2? Of course, when I look at my copy, I think it's perfect, but I need to be mentally prepared for a rating that's not 9.8.

Make sure you hold it (both covers) up to a light and tilt it at an angle to see any imperfections. That will help give you a better/realistic view of its condition.

Are most of the Sandman 75s miscut like that?
