Thanks for that advice! After posting my last reply, I did see a thread about this (much higher value with CGC), so good info. One last question: how much does the value drop from 9.8 to 9.6 to 9.4 to 9.2? Of course, when I look at my copy, I think it's perfect, but I need to be mentally prepared for a rating that's not 9.8. It's almost certainly not a 9.8, but it's still several hundred dollars (currently) for a 9.4-9.6 or so.

Are most of the Sandman 75s miscut like that? They're printed like that. The ones I looked at varied a lot, most of them had most of the Sandman logo at the top. Which miscut is the rare$t?

Thanks everyone, and so sorry for the delay. I thought I would get emails when there were replies, so it took me a few days to think about checking online. I took some quick photos and uploaded them here: 1drv.ms/u/s!AmK-jLDSL0wbqWLK1Ixfqm8zDy1D 1drv.ms/u/s!AmK-jLDSL0wbqWO5-LpmcGQVJgGY So it sounds like it's worth the time and effort to get this Sandman #75 graded. I'm leaning toward CBCS because it looks like I can pay $40 and get 2 business day turnaround. Does that sound like the right next step? thanks! I have a feeling those links above won't last, so I uploaded them to Imgur. Also, as you can see, I broke the above posts out into a unique thread for easier reference in the future.

FWIW, I sold a Sandman 75 2nd print out of my $2 boxes a few years back at Baltimore Comic Con. Had I known any better than, I would have pulled it.

Cool. FWIW, I sold a Sandman 75 2nd print out of my $2 boxes a few years back at Baltimore Comic Con. Had I known any better than, I would have pulled it. If you weren't aware of it, how do you know you sold one...? These books are virtually identical to the firsts, and not obvious at all. I was aware that I had a copy as the UPC box notates the book as a "2nd Printing", not "Direct Sales", as you know. I meant that I had a copy, but I did not know it was worth a damn, at the time. I had a vague understanding that some later printings were tough/worth money back than, that is why seeing "2nd Printing" stood out in my memory. The guy bought that one book, nothing else. I also recall selling a Suivide Squad #23 put of my $2 boxes at the same show. Another picker, who bought 1 book from my boxes, and I found out later that day it was worth nice coin, in 9.8. Highlight of that show was selling a raw (not cleaned/pressed) Doll Man Quarterly #8 for at least $100 below Overstreet VG/FN....which I also later regretted. The only good thing that cake from that show, other than mearning it was not a show to set ip at again as a vendor, was subbing 15 or so books to CBCS, which I made out nicely on. IOW, I learned that graded books are where it's at....and that the guy who were picking my $2 boxes knew what they were doing and I did not. Those lessons, coupled with grossing around $1500 in sales at a convention where booth ,hotel and travel runs about $1200.... get burned into one's memory. 🙄😖😖😖😨
