John Byrne On Reinventing Superman & Lois Lane, And Superman Shaving (Behind the Panel) | SYFY WIRE
Artist & writer John Byrne reinvented Superman in the 80s creating the foundation for the modern version of the character, including a logical approach to Superman being clean shaven. John shares the thinking behind the changes he made to Superman, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor and many other parts of Man of Steel.

JOHN BYRNE Returns To the X-MEN in Alt-History ELSEWHEN Runlink This is the exact concept that I proposed last year on the JB Forum message board and I don't recall Byrne saying much to nothing about the idea.

Byrne quote:..."But just now I thought of something that would be even more fun. For the sake of reference, let's call it X-Men Elsewhen, picking up with the coda of X-Men #136, but proceeding as if Shooter hadn't thrown his king-sized monkey wrench into the works! So Jean* doesn't die, Scott doesn't leave, and, well, a whole bunch of other stuff does and doesn't happen".
Um...NO, YOU didn't just "thought of something that would be even more fun"...that WAS ME on your forum who suggested it, but feel free to take credit for it!

Bats, I don't, was looking for the thread over at JB's forum but couldn't remember the title of the main thread that it was from. I posted as Jeff Scott over there, so somewhere is my post relating to this. I would like to find it and reread it again because I don't think Byrne even responded to it. I got banned on the site, got drunk and posted some bad comments. 😁

Story of my life.
I posted a real life story on CGC only to find a comedian used it in his act (Patton Oswalt)
No way I can prove that now
If I recall correctly, I even had a PM asking if he could use the source material for the joke, although I had no clue who he was at the time. That's right, you never know who you could be talking to online....
Reminds me of another time, on another forum where I came up with the name Morty for, you guessed it, Rick and Morty. Again, no way I can prove it, that site has been down for a long long time.
And yet another instance where I requested a song about Azrael to Metallica. Yeah, they made the song, but had to change it cause Azrael didn't work Can you guess the song? (It's on the Death Magnetic album)

My claims don't quite meet the same benchmark...
I read Kerrang! for many years, and over those years, I sent in various letters etc. Some of the stuff I sent in was "stolen" for their benefit:
The first half of my email address (which I still use and won't display here) was made into a free sticker and used as a term by their journalists to describe bands of a heavier nature.
I coined the term "Emo Maiden" in disgust at the pap some bands had the audacity to turn out... and it appeared in one journo's review several weeks after.
I also once sent in a letter to a kids comic, which I was still reading in my teens, pointing out a grave continuity error they'd made in one of their strips. Too embarrassed to use my real name, I sent it in under the name "Rocco Rizzato", only to see the exact same letter win the letter of the week prize with someone else's name on it!

Dunno about Man vs Food
The song is Cyanide
I met one of the creators of Rick and Morty on the Nothingtoxic.com forums around 2008. He had said he was working with a partner on a comedy based around Back to the Future. He was having trouble coming up with a name for the Marty character, where I suggested he go with Morty. He wasn't all that enthused to be told, and thought his partner would hate it. Guess they went with it...
I actually told them they were wasting their time on it, they even asked me if I wanted to do some writing for them (I really wish that forum was still active) as they found my posts hilarious. I told them I didn't have time for that kind of stuff, and while they liked my mind, there is no formal writing training or ways to inspire me and we would be wasting each others time. In retrospect, it would have been a cool project, but the amount of training I would have needed to contribute anything worth while would have been taxing I am sure.
As for the Metallica song, around fall 2006 I had signed up on Metallica.com and requested a song about Azrael, the archangel of death. I described him as the angel who separates the soul from the body at the point of death and my infatuation with him (I have him tattooed on my arm.) My childhood was horrible, and I would pray that Azrael would take me away. Anyways, I requested the song, and that song became Cyanide. I never knew about it because I had deleted that email and never signed back up on the site. Years went by and I came to the realization when I watch their documentary on making the Death Magnetic album. I was literally floored. The one reply I did get from my email was from a flunky who said he would show the email to the band. That was it. I really wish I hadn't deleted that email address (Ironically original PSN was attached to that email as well, and I had to make a new name for my PSN, which has pissed me off to no end)
As for the joke, perhaps someone savvy could find my post on the CGC forums. I had regaled the tale of the time I was pissed drunk outside a cowboy bar and picked a fight with a 6'7 guy. Essentially he shut me up by picking me up over his head and dropping me. I wonder if that PM would still be on my account if I had access to it

Patton Oswald looks a bit like Man vs Food presenter Adam Richman. Is there a way you can ask them? Drop them an email? "Hey, I see you went with my idea..."
Sounds like a great story to tell younger generations.
I have to ask... How tall are you?!

He's been a comic fan for a long time so I can believe he reads some boards.

JFYI: Adam Richman isn't the Man vs Food guy anymore, it's the guy in the synthetic oil commercials with the tiny NASCAR guy under the hood.
