ATTENTION CBCS Authorizes Witesses: Effective Immediately, CBCS AWs are not allowed, by the promoter, to witness at his show, without permission from promoter Mike Pries, at the Melbourne Toy & Comic Con on October 22, until further notice. Here's a quote, so I won't be bombarded with many questions as to why: "Mike Pries: CBCS will NOT be doing any Business at the MelbourneToy and Comic Con. Without my permission....." CBCS will not be there due to already being committed to several other shows that same weekend. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. However, AW Steven Rose will have signing opportunities with Tyler Kirkham, by mail, which he's already approved for. Yes, this is a first for a promoter asking for permission, instead of the artist or their art rep. Thanks for understanding.

How the heck can this NOT affect the grade?

Does CGC overlook smudges and fingerprints when grading signatures? If so, what's the point of getting them graded?

PS - Notice Steranko's $10 surcharge for signing graded books. lol

FYI to everyone in the group. If you are thinking of getting your Action #1000 signed you will have to smudge it with your hands and fingers before signing. Found this out this past weekend at the Greater Philadelphia Comic Con where I got mine signed by Jim Steranko and Norm Rapmund (both excellent people by the way). Jim’s people started rubbing their hands over the comic as I looked in with a raised eyebrow. They said the printed covers are like super glossy and they found out at a previous Con that the signatures were disappearing (Jim signed one and they sat there and waited and watched as that one disappeared after a minute). Just a heads up especially if you are mailing them away to get signed the artist might no know. Enjoy

I got mine signed the Wednesday before the show. We smudged them and mine and a few others still got kinda blotchy. They are crazy glossy.

Yeah, in the pic I posted Steranko signed then Norm Rapmund’s table was right next door and his is a little more blotchy. It’s like you have to keep rubbing the book until the last second you put in front of them

Jim’s people were telling us that some guy came up with 38 Action #1000 issues to get signed and witnessed by CGC and they had to do that to Every issue in front of the witness.

ATTN AW, Facilitators & CBCS Customers: JOHN BYRNE has asked that his signature NOT be witnessed by any grading company, for all of the shows and conventions in 2018. ALL JOHN BYRNE signed books could only be VSP'd
(unwitnessed). If anything changes, we will let you all know. Let's welcome Byrne back to the convention scene, which we're very lucky to have him back. Thank you.

No, he's been like this for a while and he had a signing a few months ago with the same restrictions.
