With the new Archie book appearing to kill off one of their characters, I was wondering which character that has been around the longest without getting killed. I think Veronica Lodge may possibly be that character since I don't recall her ever getting "offed" in a book and she has been around for about 75 years.

Ms. Grundy was the first character to die, then Archie of course. Since then death has been coming fast and furious. I should go though the Predator and Sharknado issues and compile a list of the carnage. We're still expecting more death in AWA and Sabrina if they manage to get their act together and produce the issues.
Archie's grandfather might get the nod on a technicality over Veronica as he was in the very first story if you want to count him.

When considering all comic book characters, who has been around the longest without dying? Superman...nope. Batman...nope. Maybe Reggie Mantle? I think he may have been around longer than Veronica, but is there a regular character that has been around longer?

I don't know anything about Ka-Zar's history until he showed up in X-Men and Daredevil comics, but I was wondering about the Phantom. I know he's a "legacy" type character so maybe that doesn't count.

The first being David Rand(Ka-Zar) who appeared in three pulps published in 1936 and 1937 by Manvis(Martin Goodman) and later in 1939 in Marvel Comics #1 (appearing through MMC#'s 2-27 and the Fall issue of Human Torch #5). The Next Ka-Zar is the Kevin Plunder character who was in X-Men #10.

Predator deaths}Jason/Cheryl (off panel) Pop Tate Sabrina Salem Midge Mr. Keller(he just sort of disappears) Moose/Kevin/Reggie Chuck (suicide of sorts) Jughead Dilton Archie Ginger, Ethel, and Nancy appeared to have escaped at one point and were not seen again. {Archie vs. Sharknado deaths} Mr. Lodge Midge Sabrina (Cheryl loses her bikini top) Alex Ms. Grundy (Mr. Svenson appears to be swallowed by a shark but reappears no worse for wear in a later panel.) Reggie (Cheryl is swallowed by a shark, but later escapes unharmed)

I think he may have been around longer than Veronica, but is there a regular character that has been around longer? But did they really die? Superman didn't really die after his fight with Doomsday, he just went into a super-coma where his heart beat once every two months whilst his body repaired. The New 52 Superman died, but he wasn't the real Superman (who had been reintroduced into the universe). Has Batman's died? There's been all sorts of goings on - like mortal wounding, being buried alive and getting omega-zapped back in time - but he always comes back alive. And then there's the Endgame shenanigans...

To that point, maybe another question should be "What is the longest time a comics character has remained deceased?". I don't know the history of the Phantom. I thought maybe the Shadow may have survived longer than any of the above. The Shadow as a character is older, but I don't know at what point he was in pulps or daily strips/comics.

To that point, maybe another question should be "What is the longest time a comics character has remained deceased?". Barry Allen must be a contender. Captain Marvel died a few years before Barry Allen died in Crisis. I don't think he's been brought back. Not sure the status of Jean Gray either. Don't know if we're counting GA characters or how long they have to be published to qualify, but the Comet from early PEP Comics died. I'd have to look up the issues to see his exact history, but DCM has those posted on their site. The first Flash might also go on the list as a character that has lasted longest without dying (unless he did.).

I forgot about the other lot The first Flash might also go on the list as a character that has lasted longest without dying (unless he did.). I don't think he did. There was an alternate history death in Flashpoint but it wouldn't count.
