It's a fictitious universe.

I can understand some wanting, despite the suspension of disbelief for the superheroes themselves, the rest of the world to behave normally and physics to apply to everything else as it should.

I used to be like that. Then I realized that if I'm dwelling on the non-realistic aspects, I can't enjoy the "entertainment" that has been presented.

Just speaking for myself, I won't go see a poorly written movie. To me, it's just as important as all the other components: acting, cinematography, special effects, etc. I know I'm in the minority, but I'd rather have a compelling, intelligent story with no big budget special effects than vice versa.

I still need to see it. Can't believe I've left it this long!

I wasn’t really paying attention to the realism of the weapon(chemically, is it plausible?), but that it seemed an odd choice, meaning the writers could have come up with something better I thought. Anyway, I was finally able to sit all the way through this. The film definitely has some slow parts, but I took time to appreciate the costuming, fight scenes, and some cool effects. I thought it was enjoyable overall, but the running time could’ve been edited down.
