Sounds like it might be cheaper to buy an SS slab, depending on the book.

Todd only does Sig Series signings once or twice a year, at his office in phoenix. You cannot get anything signed by him for sig series anywhere else. Contact cgc and they'll be able to give you more info. So getting a sig without getting it done in Phoenix isn't reccomended? You have to specifically be a part of his signings, because CGC has decided against their interests to only let a couple of facilitators handle this. If you want Sig Series with Todd, this is the only way to do it. Or, you can buy already slabbed books.

Yea I watched some videos and slabbing them actually ruined instead of preserved the comic, Idk if that was a CGC problem specifically but it's bad enough I can't read the thing, now it gets ruined? Is that problem fixed or will that never be able to get fixed when it comes to slabbing comics? But basically my question is, would getting it signed by Todd (besides loving his work as a fan) increase or decrease the value of the comic? (Since its unverified and could have been anyone that scribbled Todd's name on it) CGC's unwillingness to address their problems is disheartening, to say the least. It is maddening that someone can preserve a book for 20, 30, 40, 50 years or more, only for it to be damaged by carelessness at CGC. CGC's faults are legion. However...there's something very satisfying to combine your high grade book with a signature that was witnessed. It's not everyone's cup of tea...but it doesn't have to be. There are books I have that were signed and slabbed that I won't sell, barring some total devastation. I had no interest in getting them signed but not slabbed. They don't all have value...but they're priceless to me. If you have no intention of selling the book, but want the slab too, wait for an opportunity. If you want to sell the book at some point...doesn't matter. Todd's sig "increases" value for most everything, slabbed or not. If you want it to be "official"...wait for the opportunity. The other consideration...and it is legitimate...is that no one lives forever...not you, not creators. There are all sorts of opportunities that I have missed because the creators are gone. Nothing you can do about it. So, if you just want something signed by Todd...just do it.

You won't get any Newton rings that way either.

"yay" I have 3 TM sigs, one was a raw roll of the dice, one was a CGC green label (That made zero mention of Peter David's Sig on the splash page- Not even "Name Written..."), and one that came with the Spawn Artist's Edition, so I'm fairly certain that one is legit. Sure, it would be okay to meet him, but not if he's going to make me jump through hoops.

If I had a choice I would not choose Desert Wind/Celestial Does anybody? Those with a choice I mean. I've never dealt with them first hand, but when their name/service comes up, it's always related to something negative.
