Interesting. I wonder if he would have been all gung-ho for CGC had they graded it the highest. A half-point in the mid-range is anything that could happen to either company on any day. I bet if he re-graded at CGC three times, he'd get at least one 6.0 out of them.

Totally off-topic...but this is why you don't encapsulate books with brittle pages...it's a shake chamber. Notice all the debris piling up at the bottom of the case. Mylar provides so much more protection than a graded comic case.

So if I got a couple autographs in Boston this weekend, and cgc isn't there, it won't be recognized as official?

Thanks for the info fellas. The toddfather is in Boston Saturday, that's 3 hrs away from me, id like to get his signature on a few of my favorite covers but NYCC would be alot easier for me but he hasn't announced he's attending. And he announced going to SDCC and the Boston one which leads me to believe he's not going to the NY one.

You cannot get anything signed by him for sig series anywhere else. Contact cgc and they'll be able to give you more info.

Yea I watched some videos and slabbing them actually ruined instead of preserved the comic, Idk if that was a CGC problem specifically but it's bad enough I can't read the thing, now it gets ruined? Is that problem fixed or will that never be able to get fixed when it comes to slabbing comics? But basically my question is, would getting it signed by Todd (besides loving his work as a fan) increase or decrease the value of the comic? (Since its unverified and could have been anyone that scribbled Todd's name on it)

It could still increase the value if the buyer feels confident enough in its authenticity, though they could always try to use it as a way of knocking the price down. It really depends on what is most important to you; The sig or the [someday] sale.
