I met one of Mike Royer's old friends of 50 years at the con, (Greg Koudoulian- He led one of the panels Mike was on). We were talking for about 20 minutes when he mentioned he sold a Ka-zar page to someone on eBay saying he was a friend of Mike's, and was going to have Mike sign it (he thought) in SD, so he brought another Ka-Zar page, just in case. Sure enough, it was me. We had a good "It's a small world" laugh. And as my 'What's New..." post shows, I bought the other page.
Another small world story; On Wednesday a lady approached Mike asking if be remembered her. He didn't, but she said they shared a flight several years ago, and that he drew a Disney sketch on a paper napkin for her (He does that a lot), and that she still has it. On Saturday I saw her talking with Whilce Portacio- Turns out they were together.
Comic books shrink this big world.

I figured so, but wasn't sure because she appeared a little older, which of course means nothing. She could have been a sister for all I knew, so I didn't to Luke & Leia them

It's a shame but George Perez had to cancel next weekend's appearance at Terrificon. But Evan and I will be there again this year

So this year they're having the oldest living Batman artist, Joe Giella. He inked a lot of SA classics like Showcase #22 and B&B #28 (two books I'm bringing him). I've never met him but I do have a book signed by him. Back in the day my friend Matt was really into OA and got to know some of the SA inkers (like Murphy Anderson). I had moved to Seattle when Matt got to go to Joe's house, so he bought a Detective #353 and got it signed for me. Here's the letter Matt wrote me, and I'm going to ask Joe if he remembers Matt. The letter is dated 3/13/1999.
