I think the thing that bothers me the most about the various denizens of message boards...and, really, life in general...is that everyone is so damn dishonest.
The shrillbeers, the vaks, the Doofus510s, the joeyposts, the skypinkblus, the Nomatters...none of these people is honest about who they are and where they're coming from.
It's one thing to dislike someone. It's another to lie about it endlessly, and pretend that your comments are genuine disagreements, rather than what they really are: blatant lies.
I respect people with a sword in my face. I know where they stand. They aren't being dishonest about it.
I despise people with the knives...however poorly concealed...behind their backs, pretending for others, putting on a show, acting like they're being sincere and earnest.
It's pretty disgusting, all things considered.
I'll tell you what I think of you. I won't engage you if I don't like you. I won't troll you with bad logic, or argue exceptions as if they're the rule, or any of the myriad ways that people misrepresent both themselves and the people they dislike.
That doesn't make me great, or even better. There are certainly people I dislike that I have no good reason to do so.
But it sure would be nice if everyone was just honest about what they think of others.

As I get older, I start to understand Holden Caufield better. Bunch of "phonies".

However, we're all human beings and as such far from perfect. The best I can do about some of these is put them on ignore.

I get enough eye-rolls from seeing quoted posts, I don't need to toggle to see these people are doing the same thing still.

Well, seeing so many posts in a row that I can't read, something has to be going on in the "Possible Terror Attack In England" over at CGC... looks like I am gonna break my rule about no toggling.

Wow... wooowwwwwww... that's a lot of dis-ingenuity going on in there. I feel dumber for having read it. Watching someone prop up a strawman and then argue it down is just no longer amusing. Wow. I won't do that again. I promise.

Pretty sure you have to be logged in. I was logged in, but I have read where other people can't see the WC unless they are logged in, so I am going with that. I haven't logged out of that site since I finally got on. It might not let me back in!

Without calling out specific names, there are too many people who are afraid to say what they mean and mean what they say but there are also many people who don't know what they mean and that's a confusing thing too.
Another problem is when those who 'think' they're right and entrench themselves and won't consider that they may be wrong.
Glad I found this thread.

So am I. I mean, Jeffro however we are all human beings BS, and then turns around in the next sentence and calls the same human beings . Classic.
