Okay guys, This is as close to a comicon as I can get in my neck of the woods. And I do mean woods, I live deep in the heart of the Piney Woods of East Texas.
On FCBD for the past few years, a generous individual named Ricky Custer has put together a small "comicon" of sorts.
If anyone is inclined to assist in his efforts to raise comic book awareness, donations can be made here.

I attended this event two years ago and had a pretty good time, I completely missed FCBD last year.
There were bands, LARPing, cosplay, vendors with boxes of back issues to dig through, all the usual trappings of a con.
The year I went, my son and I had to walk to many of the businesses located around the event area to collect the FCBD comics, which was good traffic for the local businesses.

12:00 Kid's Pokémon Craft Workshop

Book authors Edward Hancock II, E. Howard Hill, and C.N. Pinckard will be there signing their books.
Avalon Faire will be mingling and otherwise harassing the crowd.
And cosplayers! Cosplayers everywhere!
