We have errors, "variants", double/multiple covers, "missing a cover error", and recall books. What are they going to come up with next? That, good sir, requires a thread of its own

Or page was printed with extra paper. Dog leg? Is that what they call it? Makes sense, if not. I can't imagine anyone would treat this as special, rather than hope it isn't counted against the label grade.

I had a book with siamese pages but i sliced it with a box cutter so that I could read the damn pages.

Get it sealed back on and sub it to CBCS, not CGC.
Joking, of course. Both are known to miss stuff.

Oh, if you're going to submit it, then yeah- CGC it. And that's not necessarily a knock on CBCS. They're just not there yet when it come to sale value. And, for those who don't 'know' me, I have no problem with slabbing certain books with the intent to sell. It does help maximize return, and it offers the buyer a better than fair shot at receiving a shenannigan-free item.

Also, I'm not saying that's the only valid reason to slab, but it is for me.
I tried slabbing a few books under "because" for the "reasons" category, and while I was very happy with the results, I saw money that I could be using to buy comics is instead doing nothing (right now). Because they're keys and a HG double cover (double covers are cool), it's not a loss, and will be worth more to my family. No one else in my family collects comics- I hope they keep them, but can't realistically expect them to.
Naturally I buy slabs, but don't always crack them. If it's a hot item and high grade, I might keep it and often buy a low grade reader to go with it. But for me, slabbing is unnecessary. I'll leave instructions for our son what to do if they feel they need to sell; which books, which grading company, which ones to clean/press or CPR. I have an ASM 8.0 W that, if it were flat, I feel would be an easy 9.2- My opinion, of course, but I do pretty well in grading contests (fwiw), and this one is right in front of me. Anyway, that's almost a must CPR if selling.
