I found only one Chris Miller associated with comics, and I didn't get the impression it was him/her. Completely different style.

Me too. I keep trying to think of other famous Scotts connected to comics, but can't. I did see several Shaw pieces on eBay, but he spelled his whole name out each time, and the lettering was different. I don't think it's him. Scott McCloud? He was already doing story/art for Zot! by '86 (Eclipse). Yup, looks just like the Google results. I've got a signed Reinventing Comics around here somewhere, as I got to meet him at a book signing at Microsoft in the early 2000s.

I'll be looking at GCD front and back for this one. It has to be a HTD person.
