I agree. It's sad that instead of investing in new characters and shaping new storylines, the same classic characters are having their stories retconned and retold over and over. It completely dilutes their stories and you take each event less seriously. Marvel, DC, and even Image need to invest in new characters. Image is not so bad, I just think Spawn's story is essentially over and should be respected in legacy.

But Marvel and DC keep rehashing the same characters and just change up their origins a bit to make it feel new. It's like they don't have faith in new ideas, so they have to keep recycling the classics hoping to profit off of the memory as much as they can.

We mentioned that Calexit #1, the new Black Mask Comic by Matteo Pizzolo, Amancay Nahuelan, Tyler Boss, Jim Campbell and Dee Cunniffe, sold out last week and went to second printing, after it made the front page of the Drudge Report.

But we now have a few more details. The initial print run was 25,000, Black Mask got their most same-day reorders for any title on its release, and it not only sold out at Diamond Comic Distributors but also at Midtown and TFAW stores within 24 hours of going on sale.

And on Comic Book Roundup, it’s currently holding 9.1/9.3 — tied with Young Terrorists for Black Mask’s best reviewed new #1.

Standard copies of the comic book’s first printing are already selling copies on eBay for $12 up. And this is the San Diego Comic-Con cover, two copies of which have already sold for $120 each:
