This was a Time Life set of encyclopedias. My grandparents had a set. I made scans of the volume that includes comics. I shared this many years ago on the CGC boards. [/a]

This is awesome. Over the years, I've aggressively tried to procure anything I could about the history of comics. I have many of Les Daniels' books, Steranko's history, the OPGs of course, any and all OPG updates...I've got quite a library of information ABOUT comics that I'm really glad to have.
And if you don't have JJM's Krause Standard Catalog, you're missing out. It's cheap...buy a copy on Amazon.

As an aside, this is one of the things that irritates me about comments from the ignorant on the CGC and CBCS board...like from fools like "Broke Like a Joke" and others, saying "you're no historian. You're just some dude on a comic book board with an opinion." Yeah. Ok. I've not only acquired the history, I've actually red and STUDIED it, over a long period of time...and even done some original research, drawing together multiple pieces of evidence to write a coherent narrative, both on my own, and with the help of others. In fact, it was in SPITE of the foolish Jaydogrules' rantings that we, Chuck, I, and others, were able to put many of the implications of the ratio variant program together into something that made sense. These people don't do any research, any legwork, but they not only feel free to spout their ignorant, uneducated opinions, but they dismiss people who HAVE done the work and put in the time...? Not that it bothers me or anything...

I have another very interesting comic related article from an old magazine to scan. Been meaning to scan it and share it for a while now.
