I was wondering how long it would take someone to notice. Didn't take long at all  I noticed 2 days ago.  That 'fro had gender reassignment surgery....?  |

So...after testing this I've come to the following conclusions:
1) I love the effect. You can choose a photo or a background color. You can also choose a font color. All become permanent until changed again. The mini-profile becomes semi-transparent, which looks great too.
2) I think the feature needs to add font size (which it currently doesn't have), because even with the ability to change font color, some of the posts become difficult to read.
3) The primary function of a forum is to communicate. If a cool feature makes some of the posts difficult to read, it's interfering with the primary function.
4) Unless you guys want to try this out and experiment with different background photos and font colors until your posts are always completely readable, I won't implement 'Custom Post Backgrounds' in it's current form. If you'd like to take this to a poll, just let me know.

That's what I thought, too. It distracted from the posts, and made them hard to read.
It's a cool feature to have for the occasional post, though.

But I can start a poll if enough people want to play with it...see if they can fine-tune it to where it doesn't obscure things. |
