A comic with a different cover is one thing. A comic with the roman numeral II or III or IV on it, and that's the only difference is stupid. Totally

A comic with a different cover is one thing. A comic with the roman numeral II or III or IV on it, and that's the only difference is stupid. Usually...not always, but usually...there were differences beside the roman numeral, like a logo color change or something. What makes this field interesting is that it's something from the 90's that is genuinely difficult to find. There aren't many things...including dopey millennials...that aren't easy to find from the 90's. So, it's a nice little niche.

However, if he's going to spew his irrational, illogical, over-emotional bull , he's going to get his ass handed to him, like in the real world, and he's not going to have Collector's Society moderation to hide behind. If he wants to come and behave like a normal human being, I'm sure he'd be quite welcome here.

This should tell you everything you need to know about "jaydogrules."
He's perfectly ok with stealing, and proclaims it proudly.
Not condemning. However, for the Collector's Society to maintain a "probation list/HOS" for people who steal from members of the board is rank hypocrisy when no one decries people who openly advocate stealing from eBay, Paypal, etc.
If you want to do it...that's up to you.
But don't sit there and openly advocate it.
Those people who openly advocate and promote theft should ALSO go on the probation list.

Jaydogrules, someone who admits to having no problem listing things on eBay, then cutting eBay out of their rightfully earned fees when they bring him customers, continues to rant on the CGC board about "haters" who attempt to explain to people with ears to listen that these books are as risky as risky comes, and, along with "Jerome" (aka "Lethal_Collector") fails to understand that books with decades of history and market value behind them aren't even remotely the same as a "limited edition" variant from the past 10 years.
Don't believe me?
The Black Panther #1 I sold to Martin1928 in Sept for $1150...he finally sold for $1100...minus eBay and Paypal fees of $100 or so...meaning he lost 10% on the deal.
That's not an "investment strategy."
The people taking issue with these things are the same people who lived through the 90's, and watched everything crash. There's no "hate" involved, unless it's the hate of arrogant stupidity and the misleading of the masses. It's like saying "those people who want to make sure that someone can't leverage $10 to buy $100 worth of stock" are "haters."
So long as people understand what they're buying, great, more power to them. But this aggressive pushing of the agenda...without a hint of caution...is reckless, and far more dangerous to people than the supposed "contentious posters" labeled by the board admins.
It's just foolishness on a level that's hard to fathom.

I think about the future and someone will ask, why was someone paying (reportedly because the sales are not on GPA etc) $9000 for this book?
Is it a first appearance? no
Does something significant happen to the main character or a character in the book? no
well what makes this so special? well you see there was this variant program and not many people ordered it because etc
oh so it's a limited edition book? no
so the print run is small? we think so
so you don't know the print run, you're not sure how rare it is, nothing of significance takes places in the book and the only thing of value is that the cover is different on this book than the rest of them.
Yeah I can see why it's so valuable.

I'll bet Evan would let this one go for $9000.00. It's the only one in existence, and was saddle-stitched by hand.
